I remember standing in line to see the first episode in 1977. Mind blown. Turned out to be my father's favorite movie, and he was born in 1919.

Got some Star Wars facts for you fans. 1. Sylvester Stallone auditioned for the role of Han Solo. 2. Harrison Ford was paid $10,000 for his role in A New Hope. 3. Carrie Fisher was only 5'1", so often was standing on a box in her scenes with 6'1" Harrison Ford. 4. Darth Vader only had 12 minutes of screen time in the first film. 5. James Earl Jones was so sure it would flop, he refused to have his name in the credits. 6. Chewbacca was George Lucas' dog. He had a large Malamute named Indiana, that would ride around in the front seat of his car. 7. And his fur is yak belly fur attached to a woollen suit. Sounds fun. 8. The blizzard scenes on Hoth were 100% real. They were shot at Hardangerjøkulen glacier near Finse, Norway, and no special effects were needed. 9. Yoda was almost a monkey. They thought it might be easier to train a monkey, dress him up, and then animate his lips in post-production. 10. The name of Yoda's species is never mentioned. 11. E.T.’s species make a brief cameo during the galactic senate scene in The Phantom Menace. 12. Samuel Jackson's purple lightsaber was inscribed with 'bad motherfucker'. Of course. 13. Ahch-To was shot in Skelling Michael, which was overrun with puffins. Instead of trying to remove them from scenes, the director just made them into porgs. 14. Laura Dern (Admiral Holdo) would make pew pew sounds when she was firing her laser. You can see it in replays. Happy Fourth, everyone!

You didn't even like the one where a talking frog tells a kid to kill his dad?

I saw the last one a while ago and really liked it, for me, by FAR the best one. Also, I learned in the one before that, I'll watch anything when Daisy Ridley's on the screen. Didn't even have to get the chick nekked - just look at that face! Didn't even do her hair, just pulled it back to look at that face!
Sure, it had the normal movie bigger, better, faster, more clichés, and the standard, 'you must drop the bombs NOW! NOW NOW NOW!!!'
[ten minutes of movie drama goes by]
[bombs drop]
'Right on target! Great job!'
but my favorite character (except for Daisy Ridley's face), was the bureaucratic bitch who wasn't actually a bureaucratic bitch but a martyr! though she could have turned the ship around and rammed the bad guys before she watched half the resistance's pods get vaporized, but shh, look over here. And what's with Luke Skywalker actually able to act? Anyway, it did have Daisy Ridley's face in it, and I'd watch her mowing the lawn for two hours.
Extra fact I just remembered: In the next to last one, the food portion Rey added water to that instantly puffed into breadfood wasn't CGI; they figured out how to make lumpy things that did that.

I liked the first one and the next two progressively less. They just got sillier.
Have not seen the new ones.
