I've said it before, and I'll probably post it again, but I am compelled to publicly state what a fine group of people we have here. Recent dealings with other members have (almost) restored my faith in humanity. I'm referring to 3 or 4 different folks here at the moment, but I'm pretty sure it's true of all of you... trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, kind... lol. Thanks for being here.

I can't agree enough. As some will know, now that I've been allowed, I've dipped my toe in the other newly formed forum (only cos I learned a lot there) , but I truly believe this is my home. It's where my heart is.
Every morning I check what's new. Throughout the day I check what's new. In the evening I check what's new. This place is more addictive than nicotine.

I expect that a bad trade or purchase can be had anywhere, and I ordinarily hesitate to make recommendations... caveat emptor. |

Baboo, I believe peterc is on-topic with the intent of my thread, but I do agree with your remarks... blind trust is a dangerous thing. My intent was to say "thank you" to a few individuals and to express my gut-feeling that I *think* I could trust almost anyone in this forum. |

I agree 100% I spend a lot of time just reading threads to learn more. I've been here a short time, but I like it here, all because of the people.
I gave up on social media (Facebook and the like) a year ago and dont miss it at all. Since joining this forum, as long as I'm awake, I check in every few hours.
Great crowd!

I have to agree. I did a little poking around on some other sites, looking for some specific pipe information, and I saw a lot of the usual self righteous snide sniping conversation you see a lot of places. I haven't been here long, but everyone is polite, respectful, helpful. Nobody playing now-it-all or king-of-the-mountain. Really kind of rare in any kind of forum. Someone, maybe everyone, is doing it right.

I was reading another forum the other day and was pretty dismayed at the racism, political bickering and rudeness casually displayed there with the mods occasionally joining in until it was closed down then later erased. Yet the same people keep on posting there...

I generally do not like being part of internet groups/forums. Not here. I feel very much at home. I feel comfortable sharing personal matters, and that never comes easy.
We’re a small, tight community. It’s been nice getting to know many of you. I find it welcoming, helpful and fun. We have respect for each another, as well as our different opinions.

I think you mentioned in a post some time ago that you are a member of a photography forum but rarely posted. Same here. The international Pentax forum I am a member of is huge and I have been a member there for many years. My posts there number in the single digits. I have not been here long, but I feel welcome. I am glad I found this place. And thanks to all of you who have made that possible. |

I get the quantity determines quality viewpoint, but new members bring fresh input and perspective, often different than my own. I think that should be welcomed and encouraged.
