Talked to my friend in Texas again about my computer. He gave the number of some folks to call that could diagnose it from their office and tell me what was wrong. They told me that there was a problem with the Windows 10 system in my computer. They deleted everything in the computer. Then they installed another Windows 10 and every thing else that they had deleted.Right now the computer is running great. They say I should get another 5 years out of it.I don't know if they're right.I invested a hundred bucks in hopes that they are.

Hope this works out for you.
I remain with Windows 7 on an old Dell whose CPU is getting creaky.

Glad you got it running well again! I'm not looking forward to when Microsoft stops supporting Windows 7.

Mainstream support for W7 ended in 2015; security updates end Jan 14, 2020. microsoft has also convinced manufacturers not even to offer W7 drivers for 6th Gen (Skylake) and later (Kaby Lake, Coffee Lake) CPUs, to force people to use W10.
To install W7 on a 6th Gen Skylake pc for example, you first have to manually slipstream USB drivers onto a thumb drive or something, or the install fails.
microsoft breaking your working-fine old car so you have to buy their new car has been around a long time, and is called the Forced March.
puff, glad your machine is back.

The wife went through the exact same thing with a client last week. All day project. W10 was supposed to be self repairing, but when it breaks, it is start over time. I would say to be sure to make a recovery disk, but they don't work 9 times out of 10.

Hope this works out for you. I remain with Windows 7 on an old Dell whose CPU is getting creaky. CPU is probably OK. A solid state hard drive would give it a new lease on life.

Glad that you got it up and running Larry. sorry that it took such extreme measures.
My PC that has windows 10 has really slooowed down to the point that I can hardly use it, I ran Malwarebytes hoping that would solve it, nope... Windows Defender is up to date, all the Windows updates are current. Time to call my IT buddy.
Awhile back my buddy did so on my laptop, what a warp speed difference! He suggested I do the same with the PC.
