Not only my first handmade pipe, but it was deftly crafted by fellow Pennsylvanian and forum member- your very own slowroll ! These pictures do not do this pipe justice. It looks like a piece of living wood. Like a rare breed of poisonous flower plucked from a deep dark, fogged Carpathian wood and then dipped in glass. I absolutely cannot wait to smoke this pipe! Well Done, Steve! . . . . . . . My index finger actually fits up to the knuckle and that's maybe 2/3rds to the bottom. Me and this pipe are gonna do some real damage to my cellar! Over the next couple days I'll update here and let ya know how she smokes as she is broken in (for those of you who are interested)

It actually looks tiny in that last pic. This is a very generously proportioned pipe. Definitely the largest in my collection- in both briar and pot size.

Slowroll has been producing some fantastic looking pipes and this one is a stunner!
I am really glad to see someone working in that style.

What a beaut!
I like the tall stack as opposed to a wide bowl.... I bet you can coax a really long smoke paired with the right tobacco.

Congratulations!! It looks beautiful. It's a shape unique to slowroll which I think adds to the uniqueness of the pipe. I hope you have many smoke-filled years with that pipe. Great job, slowroll.

Thank you, everyone. I am sure Slowroll is blushing a little. haha I would be. It really is a handsome design. Very elegant. I will most certainly look like an Orc by comparison when I smoke it.

Looks like it could have come right out of the 60's Copenhagen Larson's catalogue. Really awesome pipe!

If slowroll keeps this up, he's gonna sink the Pipe Dan Estate market!

If slowroll keeps this up, he's gonna sink the Pipe Dan Estate market! Heheh, Damn, you caught on -- that s the idea -- trying to get everyone here converted to stack pipes! Justin, I am really glad you like it in the flesh (briar?). Smoked gently it'll give a nice long cool smoke. Gents, thanks for the compliments, I do appreciate it.

PhantomWolf .... ..Like a rare breed of poisonous flower plucked from a deep dark, fogged Carpathian wood and then dipped in glass. I like that...deep dark Carpathian wood... eloquent. Wish I'd thought of it myself. The spirit of Bela Lugosi will love it. Enjoy. Gonna smoke that Dunbar in it first? Good choice.

This was my second commissioned pipe, the first was a Basil Meadows Merchant Service. I am batting 1000! Congrats.

I figured some nice, clean VA would be my best bet until I get a little carbon in there. Probably my usual house blend I keep on tap. A mixture of Dunbar and Cardiff. Also I have commented often on how fine and cool this blend burns, so I know it should create a nice even layer in there. I hope to have my first smoke in it tomorrow afternoon. I'll follow your included instructions to the letter.
