I keep all my tobaccos in an old amoire and an old buffet cabinet, but frankly it has always been a mess..bump one stack of jars and trigger the domino effect. For all my jars I just put one jar of each blend in the cabinet and put them in order of genre, as I smoke up a jar, I will set it aside and replenish from the cartons in the amoire periodically. For the jars that I have a ton of stuff like Vintage Syrian, MacBaren bulks they are at the botton of the cabinet, and it reaches under the lower drawers. I left one flap up on the priority box and labeled them for ease of use. The drawers still work well and they are filled with tins that are in the drawers by brand. I have a bunch of aro's that I will probably never touch, I am going to clean up some estates, load up all that tobacco with pipe cleaners and czech tools and ship them to my brother that doesn't have two nickels to rub together...last time I was there, i gave him and his son some aro's and they really enjoyed them. I regret ever cellaring with squat mason jars, they work ok in a cardboard box, but they are useless for stacking.

Nice cellar you have there, trailboss. I use a CD rack to store and display some half pint jars for easy selection on top of a desk in my office at home. Also keep some tins and jars in some cabinets in the kitchen that are too high to be of much use otherwise.

These pictures are difficult for me to view. It's the opposite effect of the pictures on the UK tobacco pouches.

Well--all that certainly makes me feel inferior.

I couldn’t find room for a single jar in my cabinets if I tried... or even room for a spice rack on the counter... seriously.
I am not married to a minimalist by any stretch, and guilty to a certain degree also.... the office is my only place of refuge for tobacco.
I am just glad to finally have a quicker way to grab the oldest of any blend first instead of playing cellar Jenga.... one of them things that I have needed to do for a long time, but I am a procrastinator.

Nice cellar Charlie. I use a little cheap plastic storage rack from Lowe's which doesn't take up too much space in my office to transition tobacco out of long term storage to immediate smoke stock. I can at least see it then.

instead of playing cellar Jenga.... What an accurate analogy.

instead of playing cellar Jenga.... What an accurate analogy. A fellow participant? We had guests in our house awhile back, after they went to bed I thought that I would pick out some tobacco for a day trip...the loud crash followed by the "Oh Sh#T" brought one of them to the door. Some pretty cool ideas: Flip wire shelves upside down for jars...

Nice re-organization on the cellar, Charlie! I've moved my oldest blends forward to start smoking them more ... what the heck am I waiting for??

I think my skill at Jenga originated with my lifestyle. And while I don't play Jenga very often, I sure do keep in practice.

I'll play too. Please bear in mind that decades have passed since I used to smoke a pipe and I just resumed this "hobby" six months ago. I store all my tins, and a few oddball things in the kitchen on a shelf below the microwave. I used to have lots of cookbooks in this spot, but since I am not much of a cook, it struck me as a waste of space. I kept about 6 cookbooks (mostly seafood cookbooks), and tossed the rest. Oh--and I use Grand Marnier (and sometimes cognac) to wet pipe cleaners. My theory is that if I would not drink it, I do not want it in my pipe. And my tobacco that is smoked an a regular basis lives in wide-top Ball jars in a kitchen cabinet just above the coffee stuff. English blends on the left, flakes in the middle, and three aromatics I enjoy in the larger jars on the right. And you guys are right--those Ball jars do not stack well. Nothing to compare to haebar and trailboss , but I know you folks like pictures (as do I).

No matter how small or large one's cellar is, personal contentment is key...I think that most pipe smokers by their nature are a contented lot, there are some though that are on the track to round up all the unicorn belnds also, nothing wrong with that if they have the resources. Even saying all that, I know that smoking the last of one's unobtanium blend still kinda sucks though. That one tin of Edgeworth High grade slices put a monkey on my back...not looking to buy any, but if I see a tin pop up, I may be motivated to go sell some blood!
It looks like you have a pretty decent setup that works for you and that is the main thing...if you have a cellar expansion plan for the future, try to nail down your strongest likes and head that way, but keep in mind, that tastes sometimes change also.
