Maybe I'm just an old man remembering things the way they weren't. It seems to me though that in days gone by folks lived their own lives and let others do the same. When did it come to be that people got the idea that they could force their values on others? If some one had told grandpa that he couldn't smoke his pipe they would have found out how tough an old man could be.I get really tired of reading that I'm a bad influence on some one's kids. It's OK for them to watch violence and sex on TV and Video Games as long as they don't see Santa or Frosty smoking a pipe.My father once told me that the older I got the more I would feel like I didn't fit in.Maybe I really am an old man remembering things the way they weren't. I'm beginning to believe though that my father was right. Things have sure changed a lot from when I was growing up during the 1970s. I agree that one of the big factors is social media. That and the fact that most college students these days are indoctrinated by socialist/communist professors. Young people are highly impressionable and the end result is totalitarian group-think. Individualism and minding one's own business seems so 'outdated' these days.

Woke up this morning and turned the news on. A teacher is in trouble for giving a student awards for being "class clown" and "most talkative." Parents are mad and so is "the school." They said she was being a bully to the kid.
People get butt hurt over everything these days.

When I was in school the "class clowns" were happy about their title.
In a world full of participation trophies, this should be expected.
