OK so I click on "Recent Threads" and get a list of 34 pages of threads from newest to oldest. Then I click on "Mark All Read" button and then click on "Recent Threads" again and get the same 34 page list. What should "Mark All Read" do ?

'Mark all read' will take away the 'new' icon, which indicates there are new posts that you've not yet read. The recent threads are still the most recent threads and are available to non-members too.

OK I'm slow to learn..Would someone explain what the ...Mark All Read... does? so, let's say you're all caught up with every single post on the forum. Then you go for a cup of tea. When you come back and click on, 'recent threads', you'll notice that the top few have the word 'new'... If you click on the 'new' icon it will take you straight to the posts you've not yet read. When you click on each thread and read the new posts and click on, 'recent threads' you'll notice the three 'new' icon has disappeared. That's because you've read those new posts. Clicking, 'mark all read' will do the same thing without you reading the posts... I.e. It will clear all the 'new' icons and make it look like you've caught up with all the posts. I hope that helps.

I prefer that you keep the recent threads on the Navy. bar as it is always available as it floats. Makes it very convenient and a feature that other sites should do.
