So in another thread, JimInks mentioned about someone commenting on his work on Facebook. So I decided to have a nosey into what that work is. As I started typing in Google, Jim amash was suggested by Google! I thought it was because of tobacco reviews, but no... I never knew you did the artwork for comics, JimInks . I'm well impressed. One could say your work is Marvel-ous. This is why I have personally maintained for years now that Jim is the true celebrity pipeman of our time. Sure, some other celebrities own pipes, but they are all just posers and don’t smoke. Jim is the true pipeman. A hero and a legend.

I don't know how true that all is, but I am extremely flattered and humbled by the kind words, buddy. Thank you. Btw, Kirby occasionally smoked a pipe.

Cool pic. Now we just need one of our spies from INKS to put a pipe back in Veronica's dad's mouth.

My takeaways from those articles: the first says JimInks has around 100 pipes. The second says 260. That's 160 pipes in 10 years! The first also says he has a different pipe for every flavor - does that mean he smokes 260 different flavors? This quote also stood out: "That inspired me to draw my own comics when I was little." Jim, do you still have those comics you drew as a kid? We'd love to see some images! This quote, re: Flying Dutchman,"you can’t smoke more than two puffs before it starts biting your tongue.” Tell that to all the codgers who insist that tongue bite is only due to newbie user error!

You left out the Original, which preceded Flying Dutchman in the text. The new match version is a delight to smoke.

This quote, re: Flying Dutchman,"you can’t smoke more than two puffs before it starts biting your tongue.” Tell that to all the codgers who insist that tongue bite is only due to newbie user error! Both articles incorrectly quoted me. I have 296 pipes. I had 288 at the time of the second article. Also, I never said said I have a different pipe for every flavor. What I said was that I dedicate pipes to either individual blends or genres.
I do have a lot of those old comics I wrote and drew, but I'd never put any of them out there. They'd get picked up and spread around the internet, and I wouldn't want that.
I was referring to the original Flying Dutchman. When I tried it, I was in my early 50's with decades of experience, and by then, I knew durn well how to smoke a pipe. FD just doesn't agree with my body chemistry, although I must say that I have known other people who had the same reaction that I had. Btw, codgers don't always know what they are talking about. And, also, the Sutliff Match is pretty decent, and I occasionally smoke it with no problems.
I'll give you this story about the FD Match. Carl McAllister made it for Sutliff, and when he did, he said to his boss, "It's not an exact match, but it's better than the original (which also gave Carl tongue bite)." Then President Paul Creasy said, "Let's go for better." I agree with Paul.

It's amazing how things get taken out of context or how people get misquoted. Is it poetic license or people not listening?
