So in another thread, JimInks mentioned about someone commenting on his work on Facebook. So I decided to have a nosey into what that work is. As I started typing in Google, Jim amash was suggested by Google! I thought it was because of tobacco reviews, but no... I never knew you did the artwork for comics, JimInks. I'm well impressed. One could say your work is Marvel-ous.

I admit to miss-reading the title. Thought there was an "St" in there.
Anyway, yes, Marvel Comics were and are very good and I was there at the beginning as an avid reader.

A year or so ago. I mentioned to a coworker who is a very avid comic book collector. If he knew who Jim was? No mention of the patch just as an artist. And he knew right away who I was talking about!

@legend Lover, he also has some great memories about prominent comic book luminaries (like Jack Kirby). You just have to grease his wheels with a little egg foo-young.

Would like to think I'm even older than the 1st comic book. Alas..many yrs before my actual b.day of 12/40. Oh well, can't have it all. Did of course enjoy every bit of J.Inks artwork. Can't comment on friend eggs as only have 'em omelet & scrambled firm.

I'm truly amazed at the rich tapestry of people that we have in this place. ..."The Briarpatch" is a unique place. I've participated in various other forums over the years but none of them come close to this. I hope it outlives us all and the friendship and goodwill carries on.

It started years ago when I was gonna tell somebody to go fly a kite, but I decided that sounded too close to an insult. So, I came up with the egg business because it's silly, funny, and means nothing in the way of a real insult. Not worth hurting somebody's feelings for the sake of a laugh.

There was a Yellow Kid comic published in 1897, but it's not considered to be like what morphed into regular comic books.

Not just the characters and stories but the art.
