On TR, user bob323 suggests using a small crock pot for drying damp tobac. Choose Warm setting, fill and cover 1 hour for 2 to 4 ounces (adjust for lesser/greater amounts). Sounds feasible and I don't like the results from a microwave. Thrift stores are full of them, if there is a wife issue.

Mike, not sure about covering it. I used a coffee warmer and the tins that had lids on them caused steam to form. I didn't mind as it aged them a little, but it took a while to normalize again

I use my cup warmer to add a little moisture to tins by placing the tin right on top of a cup of coffee, when I detect dryness. On topic: I can't answer for his method as I am only reporting what I read.

Heretic! That is the only way to have a consistent drying method. Seriously, whatever works for an individual, it works for them. I prefer to just leave tobacco laying in the sun since we average 299 sunny days per year, but when it is forgotten, you have tumbleweed flake that burns like a firestorm...and I have done that too many times.

are y'all just smoking Sam G's? I just leave a bowl on the tray until it's ready.

...not an expert, but if I want it to dry, I just leave it out in a safe place... works for me...

I've never tried microwave. I have tried regular over, but I put a bowlfull on a piece of paper and place it on top of my radiator for about 10 mins. Works for me... But 10 seconds in the microwave would be a lot quicker.

When the humidity is high, I put it in the toaster oven for 2-3 minutes at 180 - 200 F. Works great, doesn't give that microwave steamed effect.

I agree with trailboss. It's the quickest and most convenient way to dry tobacco. I've been doing it for years with great results. When in doubt, nuke it.

Today I jarred a fresh bag of FVF, minus a few bowls to smoke now. If I’m impatient, I’ll sometimes nuke wet tobacco for no more than 10-11 seconds. It’s never failed, until today. After 11 seconds, it was still moist. I ended up zapping it another 10 seconds.
