Super easy clean up...a ream, and a little hand polish, and you are on the road. Nice looking pipe!

I agree with all of the above. That's a great looking pipe and at that price it's a steal.
Remember to post the post-cleanup photos.

Very nice find. I wish the junk shops around here had good finds like that.

Remember to post the post-cleanup photos. Cleaned. Polished as much as you can a rusticated pipe. Now letting it sit for another 24 hours to air/dry out from the cleaning.

Very nice. It looks like it will be a fine smoker. Just wondering what you used on the stem. Soaked the stem in an Oxyclean solution for about an hour. Sanded with micromesh pads (3200, 3600, 6000, 8000 & 12000) Buffed with green polishing compound on my buffer and then applied carnuba wax. Cleaned the inside of the stem with toothpaste on a bristle pipe cleaner and rinsed with water.

I do say...that black mark would presume a right handed smoker Sherlock. Clever deduction Watson! Nice cleanup job, Pappy!

Charlie, I think the previous owner used a torch lighter. Smoked a bowl of Dunhill 965 in it this morning as a "break-in." My work paid off as I only tasted the tobacco and not any ghosting.

I was able to contact Roberto Silvani Ascorti and asked for information on this pipe. He said, "It s an ascorti way of bent Dublin.and it s from before 1984."

Nice pipe! It really cleaned up nicely.
It's a lot of fun searching for estate pipes at flea markets and antique stores. You never know what you'll come across.
