It's rained every day for over a week here in Carolina. It rained so hard today that the city issued a warning that the streets were flooded, and folks should stay home until the water went down.I don't know when it will end but it's way past enough already

It hasn't rained here for a while, and most all of the rain we've had this year has been relatively light. Yesterday we were forecast for a few showers, and what we had at my house was reminiscent of Harvey. I was getting pretty nervous because my wife was on the road, but it was over in a few hours. We ended up with about 4 inches.

Same here in South Georgia. We have rain in the forecast for the next week too. Things are getting soggy. I had some plants fall over in my garden. I went out to put stakes up and sunk in half way to my knee. If we get some strong gusts of wind, the trees will be next.

We are dry here where I live in the Tennessee Valley; lots of rain forecast but it never pans out. Just a stray downpour for a few minutes. Apparently the mountain ranges on either side of us divert the rain.

It finally cleared up for more than 10 minutes. My garden is loving it. I am not. This storm passing through gave most of my pipes a good rest since I only smoke outdoors. Still 60%+ for the next 5 days.

Ironically, it's not rained here in over a week, and it's set to continue that way for a few more days yet.
I'm glad Ireland is sharing some of its most valuable resource.

I'm in upstate SC, Greenville area. Same...rain every day for weeks...another week of rain predicted. Last time it rained this much, 3 large trees (hundred + footers) fell...2 of them crushed homes. Nobody hurt, thankfully. Getting concerned about trees since our hood is basically cut into a forest of very tall oaks.

I was last in South Carolina in the summer of 2012,and there was flooding going on at the time. I got a real good look at it as I was on a motorcycle. We get flooded here in Houston, too.

Were you directly affected by the flood last year from Harvey, Ronv69?

It was cloudy most of the day here. It rained again at about 3, then the clouds broke and it was a decent afternoon. All the clouds and rain are getting to me. I need my sunshine back, badly.
But, on a good note, my garden is loving it. Some of my tomatoes have grown almost 2 more feet in just over a week. The tallest is pushing every bit of 8' tall. I have to pick squash and green beans every other day, even in the rain, so they dont go bad.
Need an umbrella to put on the end of my pipe at times. My cobs have been getting a work out.

First day in a while with absolutely no rain. Heat index today was 106. Sunny and steamy. Best time for a nap is between the hours of 2 and 5... the hottest part of the day.
But with extra heat and no rain, the well is going to get a work out trying to keep my 8' tall tomato plants hydrated.

I thought about it but I'm pretty sure it's too late in the season now. The few farmers growing tobacco already have big plants. By the time I started them inside and transplanted, I think I'll run out of time. I will grow some next year though. I've already been looking at different seeds, researching which would grow best here, and reading about numerous drying and curing methods.
By the time next year rolls around, I'll be ready. I've never failed at growing anything that I've ever tried. My 2 grandfathers taught me a lot about growing plants, if they were still alive, my garden would be something for them to brag about. I'll post some pics in a different thread when I set up an image sharing account.
Not much rain in the forecast this week. Makes me happy.

My recent ancestors were sharecroppers, and I worked on Uncle Jim's farm when I was little. As long as I can buy produce, I will not be gardening. As a side note, it's raining here now, completely unexpected.
