Anyone else around here feel extra special when your smoking a pipe and your loyal hound decides to place himself at your feet? If you happen to have a good whiskey or beer with you at the same time it feels like your in some 1800s novel. Everyone who loves animals has a special bond with them but us pipe smokers are the best at taking it easy, maybe that's why they are such loyal critters.

My dog doesn't do that when we're outside (which is where I smoke). If it was inside she would, and it would be nice.

One of our loyal cats has taken up residence right next to my keyboard on my desk in the smoking den, where he has made himself useful. Latakia makes him sneeze and leave the room, though; same as DW.

My stupid cats like to hop on my lap so they can wave their tails over my desk and shake hairs in me pipe.

My dog did that occasionally; it was a good feeling to know he wanted to be by my side.

The Yorkie likes to lay on my lap when I am smoking a pipe. She doesn't seem to care about the blend. Yeah, it's nice.

These are my boys, Hank and Kodi. My cats Ragnar, and Rollo are very jealous because I don't let them outside. These guys are both about 7 weeks old,the upside is they keep my feet warm when the evening gets cool.

Yes, I do. This is my little buddy, Bailey. She sleeps between me and my wife and is good company no matter what we are doing. Pipe smoking included. And she kills voles, mice and rats. Now if I could just get her to leave the poor garter snakes alone.

Wouldn't put it past them to be getting me back for smokin' Latakia on 'em. They prefer st. va blends, at least mine do.

My pookie bear is always with us...she hates to be alone. She has epilepsy and as a result we never leave her alone. She is my "baby", I love her dearly as you can see. Wouldn't know what I'd do without her...she gives me a reason to be living...that is my little pookie bear. These were our small tribe...we were all part of the pack. Hated when it was time for them to go... This was Pepe...I was his dad. This was Saint Pierre...he was a rescue too...He was a very special boy...took care of everyone...they/we were his pack. This was the little lady that started it all...She was the queen and leader of the pack...She passed with heart failure...I think we almost did, too.

I am very lucky to have a Special Space Dog as my friend, he's out on special space missions most of the time but he does decompress on the porch with me when I smoke the pipe.! I never get tired of seeing Space Dog Buddy! LOL.

While living with my son, I miss the most.....Luke. He’s sleeping on my pillow on my bed. A warm, intelligent North Carolina Plott Hound. He liked both sets of sheets....lol I really miss him☹️
