My constant companion. Bonnie is my daughter's cat, but she is obsessed with me. In my family, I am the cat whisperer.

That cat looks exactly like mine. Hmmmm. My dog is always by my side when I smoke. Loyal to the core. Years ago I rescued an Australian Shepard that was abandon at the grocery store. Cleaned her up and she was fully trained and smart. 6 weeks later I was rewarded for my good deed with 8 puppies from 5 different fathers. Apparently I rescued the town slut. We found homes for all of them including the mother and kept the runt. He is a great dog.

I rescued a 16 month old Weimaraner, his name was Levi. He was 18 lbs underweight, had untreated Lyme Disease, had separation anxiety issues and would damage nearly anything if left unattended. Took work to get his weight up given excellent kibble and proper exercise. Discipline training worked well, he beat Lyme Disease but needed a booster 2x a year for the rest of his life. The car for the Town and Tune Tour was a 2 seater, he loved that most, he would sometimes lay his head on my shoulder while I puffed away and sang, when coming home from a hunt he’d be tuckered out and curl up in his seat with his head on my lap. Sometimes he sang along which I found hilarious and patted his head and gave him a Good Boy. Unfortunately like all dogs they aren’t given our time on the blue marble but not a day goes by I don’t think of him and smile. banjo

This here is Sam (and my oldest son, 13 years ago). I think pretty much every dog is a good dog, but Sam was something special. He was quintessential dog, and he never squandered his dog-ness. He spent his early years romping in the woods and fields of the midwest, his middle years exploring the beaches and mountains of the PNW, and his final years snoozing by the fire. He had the biggest, gentlest heart around. It's been a few years now, and I have another dog, a very sweet border collie. .. but I'll never forget Sam. (And he was absolutely content to sit quietly with me while I had a pipe on the riverbank).

She's 14 yo now and stay's right by my side all day and sleeps with me at night! Found her in a lumber pile when she was about two mo's old. She was orphaned and I took her home and we've been together ever since !

Buddy is getting bigger, 7 months old, finally calming down. The cats love him, he plays with them, grabs them and throws them in the air, I fussed at him ,but then I saw they were coming back for an air ride.! That's class. Our dog gets abused by the cat.

Anyone else around here feel extra special when your smoking a pipe and your loyal hound decides to place himself at your feet? Mine loves to do this and yes, it's great.

I haven't had a dog in years. Life has been too mobile and irregular. But I've kind of been hankering for another pup lately. Ive always gone for a heeler, usually a blue. They're smart, tough, loyal and not too big. Maybe in a year or two, when things are more settled. That would be nice.
