Just found this on Facebook and thought I'd share it here. Take it with a grain of salt.

Courtesy appreciated, but some of these comparisons are seriously out of whack. Mac B. VC loose cut as a sub for Fragrant Matured Cake?

You've just gotta close your eyes and think really hard about the mcclelland blend.

Thanks for posting this, John. Has anyone tried Sutliff's 515 RC-1 and is it a good substitute for McClelland's 5100 Red Cake?

So Voodoo Queen is the ‘match’ for St. James Flake? All I know is if you review it on TR you’re liable to become a ‘deleted account.” Marie Laveau extends beyond the grave!!

I haven't tried Sutliff 515 RC-1, but it was mentioned as a possible substitute on "The Country Squire" podcast once a month or so ago. I looked for some but it was sold out everywhere I looked.

I'm surprised Frogs aren't on the list, because Sutliff latakia crossovers are probably the closest. Burma Road and Kashmir come to mind.

Btw, those two are nothing alike, which I'm sure most people know.

Nope, I’m good. A look at TR shows 20 of the 35 reviews were submitted by Deleted Account. So there’s a 4 out of 7 chance that you disappear, but your words remain for posterity.

For the most part, people have deleted their own accounts. I never understood that, particularly since some went a lot of trouble to write a lot of reviews. There have been a very few, and I mean very few, horse's butts who were banned, but there have been good reasons for that, e.g., attacking other reviewers (I've been the subject of that a couple times) or tobacco companies or bad and/or abusive language. A few people refuse to write their reviews in English, which is a requirement. Some, when told that is a rule, get mad and delete their accounts rather than use a translator to do it by the guide lines.

I keep thinking I should get a TR account and post some reviews.... It's funny to see all the Sutfliff bashing on forums etc., considering that they supplied leaf to McClelland and even collaborated on some blends as Jim, Jesse and other "in the know" have attested. I think there are blenders far more deserving of bashing than Sutliff, but in the interests of polite decorum I shall refrain from naming them.
