Any experts on Charatan's Make pipes?

I have three or four of this brand of pipe. I bought an estate collection of fifty pipes, Decatur Industries racks, desktop stands with jars, etc.  Everything is gone now (this was two years ago), except what I wanted to keep.  Does anyone out there no how to date this brand?  I have been on Pipepedia and other sites, I have not found this pipe in particular.  It reads on the left side in all caps "CHARATAN'S MAKE next line LONDON ENGLAND, next line EXECUTIVE"  On the bottom of the shank, is a "4", right side of shank "MADE BY HAND". Also appears to be a circled "L" (Lanes?).  I am not really concerned about value, more curious of vintage.  Anyone?
