I know with coffee, it is better to buy good quality coffee and add your own flavorings, rather than get like hazelnut or snicker-doodle flavored coffee or something, which often uses inferior beans.
I was thinking about this. Do any of you add a little something to your mason jar, or even better to the tobacco in your bowl, to amp up the flavor?

I think I posted this before, but I had some small samples of 3 different maple aros, and didn't like any of them. So I mixed them together and added a capful of bourbon-aged maple syrup, mixed it up and let it sit for a few months. And now it's really, really good. I also have a jar of leftovers and stuff I didn't like, and I poured a mini bottle of spiced Jaegermeister on it. I haven't worked up the courage to try it yet, though!

Please enlighten those who don't know and has an inquiring mind, Why would we want to make our smokes aromatic? Does the flavor of the tobacco become more satisfying. Is the flavor more rich and intense?

I don't have the guts to try this...although I do have a pouch of Creme de Casis which doesn't do it for me. I might throw a pint of milk in there along with some coffee and see what happens.

You can add a Vanilla enhancement by soaking cotton wadding with Real Vanilla Extract( not imitation), placed in a Tea Ball. Let marry a month or more and test smoke periodically. I did this with a batch of Mac B. Golden Extra and it added a different flavor dimension.

When your nearly finished with a jar of Honey and it is clinging to the sides and some pooled on the bottom, fill it with tobacco. Over time, all the Honey is absorbed, with no mold issues. When emptied, the jar is as clean as if it went through a dishwasher.

A few years ago, I experimented on some flavorless Amphora Full Aroma I had improperly jarred.
I mixed some White Horse scotch whiskey with honey. Spreading the tobacco out on a plate, I then used a spray bottle to thoroughly coat it with the mixture. Covering it with plastic, I let it sit for a few hours to soak in. After removing the plastic and covering the top with another plate, I then microwaved it to complete drying.
It was actually pretty good. Tasted and smelled like a whiskey-flavored blend.
I also tried some honey, water, and vanilla extract. It also turned out fairly well.

I could see adding burley or Virginia to an aromatic, but never would I try to aromatize any of my straight tobacco blends.
Only crazy folk do that!

I'd try black coffee, but definitely not milk. Better yet, just out some coffee beans in the jar and take them out once the flavors have transferred to the tobacco. Hmmm....

Anyone ever try adding a few drops of PG based concentrated flavoring? There's a TON of them to try. I thought about it for a few non aro blends that aren't to my liking.

I have my own Burley blend that I add Southern Comfort to and keep it in a press for 5 days. After 6 months of aging it’s definitely a wonderful smoke. The sweetness from the Southern Comfort adds more sweetness to the Burley. Some pipe smokers I know use rum or bourbon as well.

I do have some Jack Daniels that I think is disgusting. I may try it with that. I've said previously (before you joined, @lonecoyote), that I may try it with some Presbyterian Mixture or some Early Morning Pipe in an attempt to recreate Frog Morton Cellar.

I've done the cottonball/congac with cigars. Maybe I'll try that with a blend I find less than stellar.

I had in mind something that you would add to your pipefull. But adding to the jar does sound much more effective.
