I may have some burley blends. I don't really pay attention. However, I would like to deliberately purchase a good burley blend.
I've tried peterson nutty cut from a sample bag, and I remember I quite liked it. From tobacco reviews it has burley (along with black Cavendish and Virginias). Is this a good starting point or would there be better blends to try first?
What would you recommend? Ignore worldwide availability as this thread may be useful for others in the future.

Solani #656 Aged Burley Flake Wessex Burley Slices Watch City Slices Mac Baren HH Burley Flake C&D Briar Fox, Burley Flake #2, etc.
I say "etc" with C&D because they have many Burley blends with various levels of other components. Old Joe Krantz, Haunted Bookshop, Pegasus, etc.
I'm smoking some Solani ABF from 2010 right now and it's top notch ... benchmark.

The HH Burley Flake would make a good contrast to ABF ... sweeter and lighter / less dark and earthy.

I'll vote for Solani's 'Aged Burley Flake' and the king, or prince as it may be, of them all, 'Prince Albert'. The prince was among the first tobaccos I smoked when I debuted as a pipe smoker back in 1962. Unfortunately you can't buy American tobaccos in Denmark anymore, but a pipe friend sent me a sample some time ago and it tasted exactly as I remembered it.

I’ve been smoking burley blends for about a year. I smoked a number of blends by Peretti, D&R and C&D. I liked burley, but not like a VA or Balkan until two weeks ago. A buddy from another forum sent a sample Of Wessex Burley Slice. That smoke was magical, and it piqued my curiosity. I then tried Mac Baren HH Burley Flake, and immediately ordered more. I’m looking forward to trying most of the blends suggested by the other members.

I also agree with C&D Burley Flake 1 & 2. Sutliff J4 is a nice all day blend with a touch of vanilla. Lane BL/WB is a light all day type burley.

Solani aged burley is one I can get here. Now I've a choice. Cheers. Solani Aged Burley Flake is a great choice. If you can get C&D blends (4Noggins?), I recommend Pegasus. C&D is the king of Burleys. Five Brothers enough said. Five Brothers is great, alone and as a condiment for blends that need more N, if you can get it.

All good ones listed above. Uhle's Perfecton Plug, 00 and 300 are my current favorites. I don't know if they'd ship across the pond but you're welcome to call and inquire (414) 273-6665.
