Snapped this fortuitous shot while rockhounding in the Eden Valley of Wyoming on Wednesday. Magnificent wild horses.

That's a great shot. We should have a 'post your photos' thread.

Beautiful photo.
Would make a great painting.
We have a herd of Spanish Mustangs here. I love to see them. Some neighbors have released their unwanted mares into that herd which has strengthened the gene pool some. The Bays are descendants of the original horses brought over from Spain.

Great shot. And an excellent example of the "rule of thirds." The dark foreground occupies the bottom third of the frame. And if you imagine lines drawn vertically and horizontally that would divide the frame into thirds, the subjects of the photo (at least the two larger horses) fall where these imaginary lines would intersect. Good work. Even better if you did this intuitively.

My "real" camera was in the back of my truck, so I had to use my phone. By no means am I any kind of serious photographer, but it all came together pretty well considering the limitations. I sure wish I had thought ahead and had my camera ready to go.

Great picture, Toshtego also!
We have a lot of wild horses on reservation lands around here, especially around the Wildhorse pass area and the salt river.
Through a good portion of the res lands, the open highway looks like the place to put the pedal to the metal, but the tribal police aggressively enforce the (35 mph) speed laws because of the prevalence of the horses, and balancing public safety. I think that many think that the police are out to just get big wampum...A cattle truck was being a real bonehead, and blasted around my rig some months back in that zone..he made it obvious he was pissed at me, later up the road he got his big wampum ticket...and the tribal courts really don't play any games, they use their sovereign power like sovereign power.

When I go out to Wyoming every few years, we almost always drive to the Red Desert to look for jade and arrowheads. We often see wild horses there:
