I was cruising YouTube the other night and this video showed up in the sidebar. It looked interesting so I clicked on it. It's about a girl whose family grows tobacco in the hills of Macedonia. It is not just about tobacco; it gives a view of some dynamics of their culture among other things. Many times I have wondered about what it was like for those who grow Oriental tobaccos and this film satisfied my curiosity. The film was so fascinating to me that I later did some research on Macedonia and learned more about the country.

I will definitely check it out later, as I don't have a half hour to sit now....just looking at the frst few minutes, you get the idea that survival is so dependent on a crop that so many would think of as inconsequential to economies such as ours....even at that raw leaf at that level, isn't sold for much.
