We all collect pipes, and/or tobacco, and probably without knowing it, we collect great smoking moments.
My collection:
After dinner until late in the evening. Especially if I am meeting with my Briar Patch Pipe Chat buddies here on line in the evening.
After my monthly jam session, when all the musicians have gone home, but the walls still ring with the sound of music.
After I do any kind of performance in front of an audience.
Saturday morning if I awake way to early and can't get back to sleep, on the porch as the sun comes up.
When I am very hungry but have already met my dietary limits, or when I am tempted to snack between meals.

A few more moments in my collection:
When watching a Sherlock Holmes movie or video. Especially Jeremy Brett, or Basil Rathbone.
When reading a book so dense that i would be stopping to contemplate anyway.
When watching any of "The Great Courses". I wish I had a foot switch for my DVD player so I could pause the video while I tamp.
When listening to good music, by which I mean music you sit forward to listen to actively.
While working, when the task is kind of monotonous. (I am sooo lucky to be able to do this.)
When I have to organize something, like a pile of books, or music, or CDs.
As a reward for household tasks like picking up.
When walking the dog. (I no longer have a dog unfortunately, but when I did...)

Any time that I have a difficult decision to make or I'm stressed out. The pipe is the perfect companion to help one relax and slow down.

After I go to top-up training each month. I have a few buddies that meet up for a pint and a pipe. It's a great time.

When I first started working at a home office, I would celebrate every Friday at 6 PM with a bourbon and soda, and a cigar.

Sitting behind the wheel in heavy traffic. Casually puffing away, listening to classical or some good jazz. Watching everyone around me stare in angst at the car ahead of them.

I am about to enjoy my favorite combination of fire in the chiminea, a good single malt and a pipe. Pefect evening for it. Enjoying burley blends in a cob while out dove hunting and rock hounding at the same time is another great moment. Preferably in a dry river bed with lots of shade along the bank. That one, you just have to experience to understand what it is like.

On the golf course on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
On the deck while steaks are on the grill.
In my ol Cadillac with the top down.
On the Veranda @ the club after a round.
Up in the cave while perusing pipe sites like the patch at times like now.
