My first pipe of the day is Amphora Original Blend in a Missouri Meerschaum Mark Twain cob. I’m drinking a Diet Coke on the rocks and trying to beat the heat.

Just had some carter Hall (courtesy of john_r) in a mm legend. I liked the cut of this tobacco. It was like ribbon cut but cross-shredded into smaller pieces. They gravity fed into the pipe well and I got through the whole pipe with no relights - a first for me, I think. I wonder should I break up my other tobaccos before packing...any thoughts?

All my Flake tobacco’s I rub out well before packing my pipe. For me smokes much better and less re-lighting. I prefer my tobacco’s on the dry side as well.

That exceedingly excellent smoking experience, where the pipe lights as it supposed to, where you get an hour and a quarter out of the bowl with only three relights, where the flavors make your tongue water, no bite, no scratch, only a constant hunger for the next sip, and where it smokes down to the ash and shuts off gracefully -
Billy Budd Blonde in a rusty trusty Sav 320EX.
Dependably exceedingly excellent. I am in love.

McClelland Craftsbury Frog Morton on the Town in dated 2014, my Savinelli 320KS Trevi pipe. Inexpensive Sav. but excellent smoker👍👍👍
Here’s another blend ( my opinion ) that a few years of aging makes ALL the difference. Thank God a few years back I decided to really build my personal stock of tobacco’s! I for one did not see this coming where McC closed their doors forever....sad days ahead I’m afraid when we lose other blenders.

Along with the administration of the hospital that permits that sort of entertainment during surgery!
