While visiting/living in Europe Rattray’s blends were readily available and did I stock up 👍👍👍
Charles Rattray Hal O’ The Wynd, just over 40 years old. It's the original from Scotland and a full 4 ounces.
Pipe of choice: Savinelli Punto Oro Classic Natural - 320 KS

Simply too hot to be smoking. Try a straight VA or a VaPer. My choice when it is hot. Believe it or not a Kirsten metal pipe is a great choice for hot weather.

Back home, and smoking HU Old Fredder’s Broken Flake in a smooth straight early 1960s Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Ice water and bergs is my evening drink.

Been absent from the BriarPatch for a long, long while. Life's been crazy...got the old folks all settled in, been working like a fiend...but now it's time to re-connect with some old friends. If they recognize me. Sittin' on the porch after a hectic day, basking in the late afternoon warmth, listening to the traffic go by. An old Three Star bent bulldog is gently burning some very dry EGR, filling me with contentment and love for all humankind. (snort. Well, contentment anyway) A coolish bottle of Dasani water is my drink of choice for the moment. So, happy smokes and a hearty "hello" to all my friends who are still around!

Been a pleasant thing for me. Good to "see" you too.

Now smoking MacBaren HH Burley Flake in a straight sandblasted pre-transition Barling Exel 249 Fossil T.V.F. black billiard with a silver band and a black ebonite military bit. This will get me to dinner time. Getting ready to watch the Braves-Blue Jays game.

Vintage Ogden's St. Bruno Flake, tin seal was compromised, flakes dry as a brittle bone... still tasty but smokes a bit too quick and hot if pushed. I won't rehydrate... it's good enough.
