Been absent from the BriarPatch for a long, long while. Life's been crazy...got the old folks all settled in, been working like a fiend...but now it's time to re-connect with some old friends. If they recognize me. Sittin' on the porch after a hectic day, basking in the late afternoon warmth, listening to the traffic go by. An old Three Star bent bulldog is gently burning some very dry EGR, filling me with contentment and love for all humankind. (snort. Well, contentment anyway) A coolish bottle of Dasani water is my drink of choice for the moment. So, happy smokes and a hearty "hello" to all my friends who are still around! good to see you again!

Stormy came through yesterday evening and cooled things off enough that we could sit outside. I was able to smoke my new cobs and tobacco Cult Conspiracy in a Rob Roy Washington cob. Cult Militia in a Rob Roy Legend cob. P&C Best of the Rest in a polished apple Diplomat. Peterson's Irish Dew in a polished Mark Twain. Sipped Peach tea.

Reiner Professional Blend dated 2009. An enjoyable aromatic that does not need to be sipped. Pipe of choice: Pipes of Malta Meer Billiard bowl with a wide saddle stem. Custom made for me in 1987 and purchased while living on The Island of Malta. I know I’ve smoked this pipe over 5,000 times in the past 30 plus years. Still a superb smoking pipe 👍👍👍

I’m drinking a Canada Dry Seltzer on the rocks, and smoking 2014 C&D Pegasus in a Savinelli Chiara prince with an acrylic stem. This was probably the third pipe I ever purchased, around this time in 1999. I bought it at Barclay Rex, when they were on Maiden Lane. It’s never let me down, except when I broke it. It was repaired by Mike Meyers in April and it smokes as well as it ever has. I’m amazed how different things are from 20 years ago, yet so much is not.

Half way through this bowl of Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend in a 1982 black sandblasted paneled slight bend Savinelli flat bottom sitter with a black vulcanite stem. A bottle of Cheerwine made with pure cane sugar is my drink. Almost time for Mad Dog Russo.

Got a pouch of Drexel VII with my Fathers Day pipe. It was dry as a bone, so I re-hydrated it and game it a shot. It is an OK Va/Per. Not much to it, but OK. I'm smoking it in my MM Apple Diplomat with Forever Stem while I sit on the deck with the dog.

Relaxing after a pizza lunch with a bowl of HU Old Fredder’s Broken Flake in a smooth straight early 1960s Lane era Charatan Executive Extra Large stretch apple with diagonal channel cuts on the lower right and left of the bowl along with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad. Cubs and Dodgers are on MLB TV after the Mad Dog show.
