My last smoke of the day was Astley's No. 44 in an old Charatan. Between the heat and the mosquitoes, smoking is less pleasurable of late.

Peter....that picture you posted is a stunning piece of Art. I’ve collected a number of Gregory Perillo Limited Editions and the one pictured below is one of my favorites. He’s a brilliant Artist focused on American Indian Art.

My last smoke of the day was Astley's No. 44 in an old Charatan. Between the heat and the mosquitoes, smoking is less pleasurable of late. I posted in another thread that I made batch of "Paul Harvey Mosquito Spray" and sprayed it around my yard. I know it sounds hokey, but I think the stuff works. I've seen very few mosquitoes in my yard. You should give it a shot. What do you have to lose? I can't help you with the heat, though.

Peter Stokkebye LBF dated 2007 on Mason Jar, just recently opened. I only enjoy this tobacco with a few years of aging. Everyone is different, some enjoy it fresh.

Been absent from the BriarPatch for a long, long while. Life's been crazy...got the old folks all settled in, been working like a fiend...but now it's time to re-connect with some old friends. If they recognize me. Sittin' on the porch after a hectic day, basking in the late afternoon warmth, listening to the traffic go by. An old Three Star bent bulldog is gently burning some very dry EGR, filling me with contentment and love for all humankind. (snort. Well, contentment anyway) A coolish bottle of Dasani water is my drink of choice for the moment. So, happy smokes and a hearty "hello" to all my friends who are still around! good to see you again! Thank you, Ma'am! Good to see you as well!

Just popped the lid on some 1792 Flake. It smells like some really nice beef jerky got all cleaned up to go to town and used some of those seasonal soaps we all get at Christmas. These Wiley Brits... I'm sure I'm in for a memorable smoke.

Long day today...late meetings...finally got out onto the porch about ten or so tonight. Been a long time since I've had a late night smoke, and was reminded of how pleasant a thing it can be. The night was thick and humid, with that summer scent I can't describe...took me back to when I was a kid, camping out in the backyard. Loaded up a no-name Canadian from my pouch of this-n-that, which is at this time mostly a blend of bits of various light aromatics and a healthy portion of natural va & burley. A bit rough around the edges, but enjoyable in it's own way. Cool water on the side.
Happy pipes, all!

It was a beautiful evening here in Denver so I sat out on the back patio with my trusty Labradoodle. Smoked some C&D Billy Budd Blonde in a Tom Howard billiard with my hound at my side. Very relaxing.

Gods What a blend! If you like strong baccy, have a good slow cadence, and love deep, rich, always changing flavours... I could see 1792 being something to swear by. I lament buying only two tins. It's almost too much for me. It's teaching me to smoke my pipe. It demands respect. Haha Think this will be my only pipe tonight. I think I'll take it for a stroll in briar for my bedtime smoke tomorrow.
Goodnight, pipers.
