Since everyone who voiced their opinion about the BOM thread seemed to be in favor of a pre-selection process, I thought I would go ahead and put this information in a separate thread. Our method for selection has thus far been that the previous moth's blend decider chooses the person to pick for the next month. Personally, I'd like to keep it this way as it discourages the same person getting picked for every month. Some had mentioned that they would like to fill the list out to the end of the year, so if that is the wish, I'd like to have the selections in a centralized location. Thus far we've had:
Myself select Orlik Golden Sliced for May Wolfman select Amphora Original Blend for June CGVT select Hearth and Home White Knight for July Legend Lover select Peterson Sweet Killarney for August
I also think it wise to continue alternation between aromatic and non-aromatic. All that being said that means it is up to Legend Lover to decide who selects the blend for September. I personally think we should only go up to December, perhaps someone can even pick a special holiday blend for the month, then we can start again in January with a selection for the next couple of months.

I thought it was a good idea to have a separate thread for the selections etc. than we do for the 'reviews'.

Another idea is a tobacco swap for BOtM.
Example: I don't have Amphora but am positive I've got some White Knight with 3-4 years age on it.
Anyone want to swap samples? This saves folks from buying a whole container of something they may not want.

Beardedpipesmoker Having the blends picked out through 12/31 is a good idea. I also like the idea of a holiday blend for December. DarinI’m also in agreement about trading samples when possible.

It's supposed to be an aromatic and widely available so I'm going with Sutliff J4 Mild Burley.

Nice! I've been smoking this for the last month and really like it. I have a few tins cellared and a jar that I've been smoking out of. I'll put it away in September so I can really enjoy going back to it in November.

I was ordering some tobacco and thought I'd get the next few month's selections. It took me a while to find this thread so I thought it might be time for a bump.

Okay, I discovered something last night which means I made a boo-boo in picking my selection. I have only seen two selections of Sail on the websites I usually visit, a yellow pouch and a green pouch. I get my Sail tobacco at a local cigarette shop and it is a yellow pouch, so I assumed (first mistake) that I was buying "Sail Yellow." Last night I was on Iwan Ries website and decided to look up Sail tobacco there. They had 3 Sail tobaccos, and two were in yellow pouches, one was light yellow and the other was a little darker yellow. So then I actually READ the packages (smh) and discovered there is a Sail Regular (dark yellow pouch) and a Sail Natural (light yellow pouch). What I have been buying locally is Sail Natural, and that was what I actually intended (though I didn't know it) when I chose "Sail Yellow" as my pick. Sail Yellow is evidently actually Sail Regular, because that is the yellow pouch everybody else seems to carry, and no one is carrying the Natural. Iwan Ries was even sold out. But evidently my cigarette shop has no problem gettiing it....
So the question is, how many of you have already purchased Sail and bought Sail Regular? I may have to buy some Sail Regular, *sigh*
