Here I sit in the wee hours of the night, sippin my last drink of the evening, bourbon & water, and having my last pipe.
The evening started off around 10pm with a bowl of 2013 Smokers Haven Our Best Blend, then it was on to a bowl of 2012 Margate, followed up by John Cotton's 1&2.
I know what you're thinking, not exactly simple pleasures, with the first two being somewhat difficult to find.
The simple part comes into play with my last bowl... A bowl of MM965 match in an old Bent Dublin Estate that I refurbed last year.
I picked up the 1 lb of the match on sale last year, so relatively speaking, it is indeed a bargain tobacco in a bargain briar.
As much as I love my collection of Germains blends and my more expensive Dunhill Briars, I absolutely love the MM965 Match.

It wasn't too long ago none of us imagined not being able to get McClellland bulk on demand. I cellared approximately five pounds of #2015, the finest tobacco never put in a tin IMHO, primarily for aging purposes.
That having been stated, I have a celllar (actually a closet) full of tobaccos others would probably consider superior to that one; however, I continue to reach for it more often than others and consider it my favorite.

I also love many of the hard to find blends. I actually prefer IN-B-Tween over OBB. At the same time, I enjoy bulk blends like Sutliff Match Elizabethan, C&D Pegasus and H&H Louisiana Red. For me it’s just a matter of what I feel like at the moment. I’m most content when it’s quiet and I’ve got a book and pipe. That’s my simple pleasure.

That compares to me sitting on my porch, a cool breeze blowing while i smoke my Jake Hackert cob and smoking some Half & Half plus perique. A simple pleasure indeed. Enjoy Dino.

Smoking on the porch when the city is quiet and you can hear the birds in the background. You can think or read in peace.

As you can tell from some of my posts, I really enjoy my cobs while just sitting on the porch watching and listening to the birds. The fat hound dog usually accompanies me when she's not chasing squirrels. I like those moments the best. I find that I'm completely in tune with what's going on in that moment and at peace.

Like the simple pleasure I'm enjoying right now. Sitting on the deck overlooking fields in comfortable temperatures (68 F, ~ 16 C) smoking ODF and watching the hummingbirds, drinking coffee.
