A little something to watch for those of you who have never seen a pipe made. Similar to some other methods I have seen, but actually with a bit more hand work. Take note of the freehand drilling of the draft hole. This is not an easy task and is similar in fashion to how I was taught. A supplement to this is the second video, which is the process used to rusticate one of their pipes. Another really fun watch. Enjoy!!

I keep promising myself to buy a Blakemar some day. As a member of the Pipe Club of London there is a discount offered to members. I will say that Blakemar does not respond well to emails. I also heard that they are for sale so I suppose a trans-Atlantic phone call is in order.

But you're not scared, hey Scottie? Thanks, Justin. I always enjoy watching different processes.

I have a Blakemar Litchbruyere bulldog pipe in my collection and it is truly a fine smoker. This manufacturer is a sleeper of whom I would have never heard had it not been for a brief mention by Richard Carleton Hacker in the "Collector's Compendium of Pipe Brands" chapter his book titled "Rare Smoke - The Ultimate Guide to Pipe Collecting."

Do you mean the make, Stan? Yes Charl, I have a little "toy " lathe but that lathe seems good engineering.

I had another look, but there doesn't seem to be a shot where you can see the name. I love watching pipemaking videos and the common thread through all that do it day after day, as a job, is that their tools are topnotch. This guy sure knows how to handle turning.
