Hello all, I made my account a while ago, but have just been lurking around this here patch, and learning a lot.
I've been on and off pipes since around 2003, with some long stints off in between then and now. I was just smoking my local shop's blends, until a few months ago when I dove in head first. I've got the bug, and I'm enjoying myself immensely.
I think I've found I'm a big Burley fan, although I enjoy all sorts of other stuff. My favorites, so far, are Gentleman Caller, Bayou Morning, CH, Haddo's, Autumn Evening, Sutliff Aromatic English, and LBF (to name a few). I've picked up about 40 different tobaccos, and have more on the way.
I have an old Willmer estate bent Apple that I love, a Stanwell bent freehand Dublin, a black smooth Peterson 303, estate Nording freehand, an H.I.S. bent Apple (I think?), and a whole bunch of cobs.
You all seem to be a great bunch of people, and a veritable treasure trove of information. I'm very happy to have found this little corner of the internet.

Welcome to the forum!
My in laws used to live in Lovettsville Va. which is a stones throw from MD, I loved the antique shops in New Brunswick, but at the time I had stopped smoking for awhile, and I probably wouldn't have thought about looking at pre-smoked pipes. It might be worth having a look see if you are ever in that area for estate pipes.

good choice with Gentleman Caller I'd never heard of deer tongue until I started reading the forums, so I bought some Gentleman Caller, and was so excited about it. I've smoked plenty of aros, but deer tongue is a whole different animal. Now every time I mow my back lawn, or drive by a field I think I smell deer tongue. trailboss, I'm not in that area very often, but I'll take your advice next time I'm that way. Nice to meet everyone, thanks for the welcome!

John, I love that you, and others here, have been smoking pipes for decades. Really smoking em, not on and off again like I did for decades, and that you recall what the blends of yesteryear tasted like. Welcome to the Patch Cramps. You've found a great site here with lots of great folks.
