I recently picked up an estate pipe stamped "BRIAR PATCH" and made in France. I'll post a few pics of it as soon as clean it up some.
Can anyone shed any light on these pipes?

It's probably a shop pipe. I can think of 3 pipe/cigar shops that have/had that name.

I concur with Dave's opinion. The markings on the pipe can also be an indication of where the pipe was made. If it is stamped with "Imported Briar" then chances are it was made in the USA. Many of the "shop pipes" were made in St. Claude, France although there were some very upscale pipes from noted British makers. The photos will help immensely.
