Upon opening the pouch, I’m greeted with a pleasant, mild coca aroma. The tobacco is moist, but does not need time to dry. This ribbon cut is a mixture of light brown, dark brown and light/dark brown tobaccos.
I taste chocolate, but it is not overpowering. At times, I sense leather. It’s savory rather than sweet, and can be lightly spicy. It’s pleasant, mellow and almost medium in body. It smokes cool and never harsh. It goes well with black coffee, and works best for me as a pre-breakfast pipe.
This is a good blend for the aromatic smoker that wants to explore non-aromatics, and still retain the flavour.

Another top notch review, Wolfman. I'm checking my b&m tomorrow for a pouch.

I did some search trying to find some history on this blend. Didn't come up with anything. As I remember it was the blend that got me started on my pipe smoking odyssey back many years ago.To be honest I don't remember what it was like.I guess I should try it again.

P&C is the only place that has the Match I wonder why P&C seems to have a lock on so many match blends and SP doesn't ? Mike, I wrote SP when McC went out, mentioning that and Dunhill being gone. They said they talked about handling more and have added Flying Dutchman to their stock. They did tell me I could order some ahead of time by the pound. My problem is that I have all the Match Blends I want in good portions. However, I may be looking at some Briggs and Brindley's in the future. I will inquire more later. I would think if you want a pound, calling is the way to go about it. WV Smokeshop also has a few of their Matches.
