I never thought of having an inventory for insurance purposes. That's a good call, Stanhill . Thanks, Legend. In our old flat, I had about 400 books stashed away in a box in our basement room; the room was flooded because of a thunderstorm and all the books were destroyed. Luckily, I had my book collection inventoried and the insurance company paid up without any haggling. So I think that it's a good idea to have lists.  Yikes...I've given thought to it, but I'm behind on this one. Thanks for sharing...I must get on the ball. |

I assume a number of my pipes have vulcanite stems, so I make sure none of my briars are stored where daylight can reach them.
I am not a big pipe display guy anyway, but a pipe rack would sure make things easier. More dignified than a pipe drawer.
So do y'all display your collection/accumulation prominently or hidden in the dark.

Last night I cleaned and organized all of my pipes. And it is embarrassing the number and diversity. 51 pipes.  I have the 13 I love and always love me back. Many of the exact same type so as to be able to enjoy multiple pipefulls without wearing out a pipe. These are the pipes for which I would gladly abandon all the others, should it come to that. The 13 for which i would forsake all others. I have 7 that are diversions, quite good, but reminders why I love the 13. 12 churchwardens, because they are sooo cool and when I smoke them I take on a persona that is quite effective in the right circles. 15 cobs, because i can keep them in the tackle box, the glove compartment, the day bag. 4 clays because, well, they are clays. So that is enough already. I don't want to collect, I want to smoke. So how many you got? How many you want? What is the strategy going forward? Any for which you would forsake all others? I have 2. The only other things I really want to get would be a nice acorn churchwarden and something big beefy and cumbersome while catching the eye just so. Lol |

I've got a little over 100, not counting cobs, clays and meerschaums. My PAD got kind of out of hand; don't understand it. I'd like to get my collection down to 60 or less. well why didn’t you say so just send the other 40 to me. Boom your down to 60! 😁😆 |

Had 24 Edwards from 60s and 70s but the mover lost them. Money wasnt the issue as they are no longer in production. Have been slowly replacing them. Added some others Savenelli, Peterson, basket pipes for the heck of it and a few cobs (which I had never tried until last year). Still looking for Edwards if anyone wants to depart with one.
