We lost a truly great artist and personality today. Anthony Bourdain, the legendary chef and tv personality was found dead today. He was truly a person whom many of us could live vicariously through his wonderful experiences both in the states and in other countries. RIP Mr. Bourdain, you will truly be missed.

So sad to hear. My daughter shared with me that fashion Kate Spade also took her life recently.
Depression is a terrible condition, hate that it has taken so many great folks from us too soon.

I am truly saddened by this news. Just saw it minutes ago. He was one of my favorite people on TV. I found him engaging, funny and really interesting to watch and listen to. I will really miss the vicarious travelling made possible via his shows. Rest in peace Mr. Bourdain. You left us too early.😔

I've read *Kitchen Confidential', 'A Cook's Tour' and 'Medium Raw'. Great books. I've never seen any of his TV shows. The one TV chef I miss, is Keith Floyd.

It's truly sad that he decided to take his own life. My wife and I loved all his shows, and the way he conducted himself, never belittling the people or their country. Really going to miss him.

Twice I missed the opportunity to meet him, once at a boucherie in Eunice, and 4 months ago where this picture was taken. Loved his talents, not so much his beliefs, which I disregarded. Fact the Cajuns loved him, he dived in the boucherie up to his elbows. He will be missed.

I don't think I saw much of His work, but it's a tragedy that he took his own life. So sad. RIP

There have been two people in my life who shaped my love of food and cooking. First, my mother, who let me cook in her kitchen when I was younger. The second, was Anthony Bourdain. He taught me that food is an experience, and that trying EVERYTHING is the right thing to do. I've been following him for the past 18 years, since his release of Kitchen Confidential. His brash and unapologetic honesty was always refreshing, and something I have enormous respect for. He was an anti-celebrity. This is a bad one for me. There won't be another like him, and he will be missed tremendously.

I hate our celebrity-centered culture and I loved Anthony Bourdain's shows and take on the world.
Depression is a kick in the guts and suicide the end of hope. My heart goes out to him, all those less famous than him who have succumbed, and to all the families left behind affected by the act.

My heart goes out to him, all those less famous than him who have succumbed, and to all the families left behind affected by the act. I've known too many people who have done it from young kids to older people. It affects me deeply. Having gone through depression I understand it more. I am just so happy I had friends who didn't give up on me back then.
