This was the granddaddy of pipe forums. They had at least 2 crashes/hacks, which was unfortunate since they had accumulated a huge trove of tobacciana lore. Some of the information is not available anywhere else and the archives essentially vanished. Much of the stuff was written by experts who passed away, so that valuable knowledge is kaput.

I had seen this posted at some of the other sites. So they are gone? Has anyone heard anything about what is going on for sure?

Yeah that really sucks. It was the first forum that I was a member of. Learned a lot of shite from that place. RIP

I've noticed that activity there was on the decline. Is it really gone?

Oh, by the way... any chance you could accept my request to join the NYPC on Facebook? It has been pending for months, lol. We would also appreciate it if you could mention the new forum... totally up to you though.

Go figure I just posted a few pictures on the Castello group a week ago. I've noticed it came back for awhile yesterday and non of my stuff was lost. SF's been very quiet since the last crash and data loss. I don't know if it will survive another total data loss. I would really miss it.

I talked to Art a few days ago. There was a problem with the server (a fire maybe, or power outage??) They are working to resolve the issue, but no time frame was given, to me anyway.

I used to read and post quite a bit there. After the last crash activity was down enough that I wasn't getting enough action to suit me. I moved on to other forums and eventually just quit visiting. Probably a very familiar story.

I've visited a few times, but can only spread myself so thin. I hope that they are able to resolve their technical issues.
