I spent the weekend in Winchester VA, and they have a pretty respectable tobacco/cigar shop. While visiting, I saw a jar simply labeled "25 Years" My curiosity being peaked, I asked the owner what treasures lay inside this mystery jar...
"It was a blend of my father's, and when he passed away and I took over the business, I found a pound of this unmarked tobacco dated 25 years ago in a sack in the back room. I have no idea what it is."
Sold. Haha! He did say that he thought it was a VA blend and it definitely wasn't an aromatic, but couldn't say for sure.
All I know is this stuff can only be described as other-worldly. It has the deep, rich smell of Perique (and maybe some Black Cavendish - non-aromatic), and a semi-sweet taste that's backed up with clean earthy smoke.
My new life's goal is too discover what's in this blend, and jar 2 pounds of it for 25 years down the road!

Enjoy your tobacco find, you must have hit the jackpot. Might have been her father’s own personal custom blend. Allot of tobacco farmers in VA so it might be her father’s own homemade private blend.

Ditto to what Dramatwist wrote. I love these stories. I love them better when they're happening to me. But still, great find and I hope it gives you hours of smoking pleasure.

What a great find.
Stuff like that never happens to me, so the the next-best thing is reading about it happening to others.

I've been trying to nurse it, but I'm down to my last 2 bowl packs. I'd be sad if I didn't enjoy it so much!

Lucky you. Might I ask what shop that was? I'm in Richmond, and don't mind a little drive to check out a new shop
