This burley forward blend consists mainly of light to dark brown ribbons, with a small amount of unflavored black cavendish. I taste, oats, nuts, hay, and has a mild sweetness to it. I do not detect any topping. It’s cool, dry and never harsh. I’ve smoked it in various briars and cobs. It’s plain, mild, natural, and works well as an all day smoke. I recommend it to any newbies or burley lovers.

You're giving ol' Jim a run for his money.
You write reviews to which I can relate. Great work.

I have a few tins put away and there will be a day when I crave it once again. 👍👍👍 As of now I have to many Burley blends out for daily use. Even plenty of Carter Hall and my grandfathers FAVORITE....Granger rough cut. I still has some that’s over 35 years old. My grandfather passed away January 22nd 1970, I surely miss him!!! Still have his 3/4 full tin of Granger he was smoking out of. It will never be smoked, it will travel with me when my time on 🌏 earth 🌏 is up.

I tend to go through Pegasus at warp speed when I have it on hand. I just ordered more a few days ago and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Bob Runowski hit home runs with Pegasus and Old Joe Krantz, IMHO. Haunted Bookshop is very good as well.

How about 3.5 year old Pegasus and "new" Pegasus Sam. Can you give us a comparison in the differences?

Nice work Sam. I haven't had any of this one in a while but you nailed it based on my recollection.

headrottIn the aged version, I noticed the Virginia. It’s smooths the burleys, but does not change it’s overall character. It mostly stays backstage and let’s the burleys shine.

I tried Billy Budd Blonde (after noting Lonecoyote's dedication to this blend) for the first time last night and it is great! Definitely a "must try" for burley fans.

That characterization stays true as Pegasus continues to age based on the 2007 Pegasus that I have. personally, I find Pegasus to have a little too much Burley harshness when it is fresh. I like to have a minimum of six months of age on it to let that harshness smooth out a little. Then I love the stuff. i have a personal blend that I can Pegasus River. Mix two parts Pegasus with one part C&D Green River Vanilla. Codger blend extraordinaire in my opinion.

I've made a similar blend of Pegasus and Lane BCA that is very good as well.
