I'm sitting in my chair this morning getting ready to smoke my first bowl of the day..In comes my wife with the vacuum and a duster.Get up and move that chair she says.I have to clean this dirty corner.
What's this doing here?--I want it there.
There's dust on this table.--It's not dust it's patina.
What's this dirty thing?--It's a pipe cleaner I'm still using it.
Look the cat has been behind your chair.--It's your cat.
Men are nasty.--I took a shower--So what if my shirt has a few holes in it.I change clothes before I go some place.
This lady and I have been together a very long time.I still love her,but I'm still not sure she completely understands me.I just wanted to smoke my pipe,drink my coffee,and think about when I was young enough to chase girls.I could quite well have done without her invading my personal space.

You need to make a mancave, a place that’s all yours....to be left alone....enjoy a pipe while contemplating. I don’t care if it’s part of your garage or you purchase a Rubbermaid shed. You can even install an inexpensive A/C with a heat pump. It’s a place where you can be alone and just think, be yourself with NO nagging!!! Now, just close your eyes and picture yourself being in that place. Yup, now you feel so much better!!!

Basically my whole house is my man cave. She let's me do whatever I want. The living room has a 70" flat screen with surround sound and a high end audio system, 3 pipes cabinets, and my dedicated recliner. On the occasion that she decided to clean, it was overdue.

I'm in love with a great woman but we haven't married yet. I'm looking to turn my shed into a man cave to escape, smoke, buff pipes, etc. Need to find a tiny window air conditioner though.

I use my garage for that. It's full of junk. I did convert part of it into an office for work but it's so small, if I smoke in it I may die of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Still... It IS good to have somewhere to go to get some personal space.

My wife gets annoyed that I live in organized chaos. I put things everywhere, and almost always know where I left them. Unless... She moves them. She lives in organized organization.

I don't think a man can ever come to a point where he truly understands a woman, they are definitely wired differently.

Guess I'm lucky. Although Blondie complains from time to time about my pipes and cigars, she really doesn't give me much grief.
My home office / mancave has worked out pretty well for that though.
As for cleaning it? I keep it pretty tidy but have her or the kids lend a hand occasionally.

I understand your need for personal space. I'm fortunate enough to have a Woodshop downstairs, that I am very thankful for. But I sincerely think the question you want the answer to Is do I want to be right or do I want to be happy. I'll pick happy every time in fact I think I'm probably the stupidest person walking the face of the Earth at the moment but I'm a happy moron LOL
