I would go with one from the MM Cobbit Collection. Not the most expensive one, unless you really like something long. The other three are perfect size for me to smoke while leaning on my arms or sitting back

Once you decide if you enjoy smoking a Churchwarden I agree with Peter.....Savinelli has a number of reasonably priced Churchwarden pipes. I could not agree more with both suggestions.

Go to SP, P&C, etc. and type "Churchwarden" into the search bar ... some nice options including estates right now.

Hard to beat the cobbit series at least to whet your appetite.

I have several often smoked Churchwardens... smoked often for several reasons: cool dry smokes, length of stem compensates my oft-propensity to chug a bit too hard, ergonomics that afford a comfortable full-elbow bend and strain-free armchair elbow-rest, simply requires relaxed hand-holding of the pipe without any muscle strain to uphold and maneuver the pipe. Stem cleaning is no biggie... long stiff bristled cleaners from both ends and a nice Isley Scotch flush. They look nice too.

Thanks! I designed them and had them custom made. One is briar, the other applewood.

This old Jarl Churchwarden is seldom smoked and the only one in rotation: that's one long stem! Looks class.

I love churchwardens. But there is a lesson I learned the hard way.
With other pipes, I regulate my puffing to keep the bowl from getting too hot. Since i am holding the bowl this works fine.
With a churchwarden I got into the bad habit of holding the stem and not noticing that I was over heating the bowl. I burned a pipe through the bottom doing that, and almost ruined another one. So, now, even if tempted otherwise, I hold it by the bowl. Everything is fine.

I really enjoy my Stanwell Hans Christian Andersen churchwarden. They come with both long churchwarden and short stems; Excellent smoker.

I have an Edwards churchwarden. They're good smokers if you can locate one.

To add to the choices H.I.S has a selection of Wardens for a reasonable price.
In my collection I have a Nording, Jobey and an H.I.S briar wardens. I also have all 4 Cobbits

I bought a Baraccini, when I still bought stuff from P&C, just to see if I liked the feel of a churchwarden. Turns out I do, it also turns out I havent bought a better one yet. I've had my eye on a few, but havent pulled the trigger yet. I cant find a cobbit in stock anywhere
I'm with Darin, do a search on SP. they have quite a few.

They provide a cooler smoke for sure. And a more velvety texture.
