That is disgusting. Taxing a product to this level is a crime.

That’s totally INSANE! Look what New Jersey’s ex-Governor did....passed a bill a couple of years ago allowing the fine people who live in the State to gamble online. Atlantic City is a ghost town now compared to what it was prior to his bill passing. It’s so bad that the Mayor and City Council of Atlantic City proposed a bill to file bankruptcy, the Governor would not allow that to happen. That same Governor Chris Christie destroyed his political career with that stunt he pulled on the G W Bridge......a total blooming idiot!!!

There's that damned lumping us together with RYO. I have empathy for cig smokers, but the RYO market is what put Pipe Tobacco under scrutiny.

They're doing it with everything, everywhere. Cigs, cigars, pipes, vaping, chew, whatever. They need money, and sin tax is the easiest way to go about it.

Wow, as if I needed another reason to stay away.
They could offer me a really big pile of money to move to NJ and I wouldn't think twice about staying put in AZ, not that we are any great shakes about avoiding sin tax, though.
Sorry, my NJ brethren, may you have luck at the voting both someday to get the fools out.

They never learn. I moved from NJ 26 years ago and never regretted it.

Nothing surprises me anymore especially from certain states. Without getting political and as a Florida transplant from NY, you have to be nuts to live in certain colored states. I just ordered a 45' diesel pusher RV and plan on avoiding all such states due to their anti gun laws. I can drive through with an arsenal but can't stay overnight. Rather than figure it out, avoiding them is far easier. They don't need my money. It's a shame that they are part of this country but not really. That tax law should tell you something!

I'm scratching my head right now and wondering if cigarettes are even taxed this high. I don't think they are.

I agree...it is all about controlling others...nothing is off limits with them. Appease an alligator, and it is s short time before you are on the menu. Some people will never get it though, and they will defend such people. State laws also inform me on where I spend my money also....

I cannot imagine what Alexander Hamilton, GW, etc would think if they were alive. Anyway, different era and times. I’ll stop now.
