This morning, as I drank my coffee, had my first smoke and read the new threads here, there was a touching post by Ted … aka @lonecoyote. Well, time goes quickly in the morning and I had to take off for work. As I was cruising down the road on my motorcycle, I kept thinking about that post and how, often, others like it here touch our hearts. Just at that moment I spotted a shape next to the road and began decelerating. It was a Coyote … a Lone Coyote … and he crossed the road right in front of me. I continued to slow down and stare in amazement as he stood there grinning back at me. I’m not sure, but there may have been a slight wisp of smoke as he trotted off!

And you're right, his post WAS really touching.

That's cool. I recently relocated back to subdivision land to be closer to services after retirement. I loved the last twenty years living in the hinterlands but a good man knows his limitations. Perhaps one of things I miss the most is the sound of the coyotes at night and the rare occasional siting during the daylight hours.

Really Cool,we see coyotes from time to time around here. I'll slow down for them.Years back the Mrs and I saw one that had to have been a crossbreed. He was as big as a German Shepard, and very healthy (I'm betting he was eating all the cats that came up missing that year).

That was a great post by lonecoyote...it sounds like she was quite a lady...she musta saw something an that yote' pup so many years back that was equally attractive.
I saw the funniest thing back in about 2006...I was sitting in my tractor on a cool spring day down in Casa Grande taking a break on the side of a deserted road. I heard a commotion out the passenger window so I hiked myself up to look out the windshield in time to see a roadrunner run through a ditch and darted between the rebar crossbars of the culvert pipe to keep brush from clogging it. Right on the heels was a mangy looking coyote that was too big to follow.
This was one of them "if I hadn't seen it with my eyes" experiences, and had I been able to film it, surely would have went viral.
I didn't check to see if the pipe was made by ACME.

No problems... a lady like that can take the pic of the den, she ain’t going to pick a yote’ that runs into rebar.

The best side of me! My Soulmate and I while living in Bayside NY, year 1977. A lifetime ago that still feels like yesterday! Not the best quality picture but I still wanted to share.

Lovely photo - thanks for sharing and being part of the community here. You've made an impact, but then again you know many of the folk here anyway. Question is, what took you so long in signing up?

That wasn't Ted, that was the Trickster, who is long been known to roam you're part of the country. You are lucky he likes you.

Having a visit from Lonecoyote will brighten anyone’s day. Ted, though he has suffered much heartache during his life, always has words of wisdom and encouragement. A generous man worthy of respect and admiration. Having him as a friend enriches my life.
