Hi Folks. Just joined at the suggestion of another member (a very best friend) and as I look at who else is a member I see that I am not in a “strange place”. I recognize a whole lot of good folk from other forums. So this is where you guys went. I see we have the tobacco guru Mr. Inks, The Barling Bard Mr. Sablebrush and good to see Ron, who has moved back to Texas in short a whole lot of quality members...how did you let me join?
Anyway, you left the door open and now see what you have done. Looking forward to “chatting with you", enjoying your take on things and generally just enjoying the brotherhood of pipers. We are a small lot but quality through and through. I started smoking a pipe back in the 60’s...started while employed in a pipe shop (go figure). My mentor and boss told me...”buy the best you can afford, you’ll never regret it. So I started with Comoys. I had those pipes for many years, enjoyed them and now have passed them on to a good friend so he can enjoy them for another 50 years. I believe in sharing the joy.
Maybe I lost my mind, but I felt a certain joy in sending him those Comoys including my Blue Riband. He returned the favor by sending me some GBD’s and more tobacco than I can possibly smoke. Funny how you can develop a friendship without ever actually meeting someone face to face.
This is getting longwinded so I’ll wind it up by saying, I enjoy all types of tobacco from OTC’s to Lakelands and everything in between. I have a love affair with “old” Condor, and am still recovering from McClellands closing its famed doors.
