I smoke this tobacco a lot when I'm outside working. Especially while mowing the lawn. I'll normally go through two bowls of it.
Fresh, it feels damp, but don't let that fool you. It stays lit for the most part, and the flavor is consistent throughout the bowl. It's cased in vanilla, but it's not overpowering. The Cavendish keeps it cool and mild, while the Burley provides a bready, nutty flavor. The brown sugar sweetness is provided by the melding of the Burley and Cavendish.
The latakia provides a dark dried fruit background that isn't forward, but it would definitely be missed if it wasn't there. It's just enough to enhance the whole blend, and contributes body to the smoke.
It burns clean, and cool, with no bite whatsoever, no matter what your cadence is. There is no goopy residue, either. It's a solid smoke, and can be enjoyed all day.
Edit: smoked in cobs and briars. It's consistently the same in either.

Nice review. I might have to try that one. Aro/English hybrids are hit or miss with me. Sutliff #5 can be a decent all day blend as well.

Thanks for the review - this one's on my list! Would you say it's more like Frog Morton or more like HGL?

Thanks for the review - this one's on my list! Would you say it's more like Frog Morton or more like HGL? I never had the pleasure of trying any of the Frogs, so I can't speak to that. But, I can say it's somewhat similar to HGL (in the same vein), but cased a little heavier, and not quite as smoky. Where HGL is more towards a proper English, the Sutliff is closer to an American aromatic.

Excellent review and I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying this blend in the past. For me what I enjoy, it’s not a heavy English blend and it can definitely be repeated a few times a day. Also great in a Cob! I have a few jars in the cellar.

Nice review. The sufliff blends are also ones that I can't get hold of, but seem to tick a lot of boxes for me.

Spot on review. I smoke it sometimes too and enjoy it much more than HGL.
