Roughly 2 years ago and prior I did the majority of my tobacco business with P&C. I personally know a number of pipe smokers that would not deal with P&C if they ran a 95% off sale, the item would most likely be “ out of stock “! GOOD LUCK👍👍👍

90% of my cellar is from P&C, they have had a few issues in the past, but a phone call righted any problems, more often than not, I came out ahead.

I bought quite a bit from P&C when I was building the cellar. Pickings appear a little slim these days but these sales were always a good time to pick up some cobs or accessories.

P & C's biggest problems occurred during the change over of their inventory software system...which I believe was "launched" before it should have been. Being in the ERP software industry...that's a massive no-no. They should've done all of their processes, testing, closing, etc. in their sandbox environment prior to go-live; I assume that did not happen. Lots of folks had mixed results when ordering during that extended period. Once they righted the ship, things have been flawless for me. I've continued to order from P & C with great results...including pipes, tinned and bulk tobacco. Haven't had a single issue with fulfillment since they fixed the issues. That said...sure, you'll find some items out of stock.
I was on other forums during that period, where moderators had to shut down some threads for relentlessly beating up on P & C, ad nauseum. Glad to see that doesn't happen here.

I have already taken advantage of their sale by buying a dozen tins last night. I do the majority of my pipe tobacco shopping at P&C and most of the time I wait for a sale. I am pleased with the customer service I get there. The software snafu a couple of years ago was pretty bad; my order was on in limbo for many months. When they finally got their act together again, they made up for it with a $50 gift code and an apology.

They are a strange bunch. They don't even carry Dan Tobacco products. I still buy from them but not my first choice.

I was going to ask....are there not many other retailers that can be used, or are P&C prices so good that it's silly to buy elsewhere? Why stick with a place if there are issues with it, when there are many other places that don't have issues? I'm writing out of ignorance (and therefore probably shouldn't even be posting this), so there may be other things of which I'm not aware. |

Ditto My first order took weeks to arrive and then the following day I received a duplicate order free of charge! haha Since then, they have been flawless. As far as stock issues.. Seems to be the norm on any site. We just happen to share a hobby that is essentially hoarding. haha And SP may have faster shipping, but no one beats P&C's sales and specials.

Most people love a bargain. I can't buy tobacco from them, but have found that when they close out name brand pipes, the discount can be substantial. My major complaint is the UPS Sure Post Delivery and that has averaged a 9 Day waiting time, at times taking 3 days just to get out of PA.
