Good Afternoon Pipers! 15' Match Walnut in a recently purchased Georg Jensen Giant Flame Grain Straight Billiard/Pot from Darryl over at NorthShorePipes. Excellent draw, and the inside diameter at the halfway point of the bowl reduces from 1" (pot) to .75" (billiard). Will be looking around for a twin pipe in the future. Talk to you all later...

Full Virginia Flake in a Peterson 264. This was my first taste of this stuff. It seemed a bit damp and green. I read all the reviews at Tobacco Reviews and the general consensus seems to be let it dry a bit--somewhere between 15 minutes and two weeks--depending on the reviewer. I let my flake sit out for 3 hours and it was clearly not long enough. That said, it struck me as a mild and pleasant tobacco. I might microwave a flake or two next time and see how that works out.

William, ^^^^^^^^^^^ that flake is much better with a few years of aging. I opened a fairly fresh tin ( less then 2 years of aging ) it was so moist I pre-heated the oven to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, covered a baking sheet with aluminum foil and slide the tray towards the center of the oven, turn oven off and shut oven door. In 20 minutes your tobacco will be ready to enjoy and not dried out. Also helps bring out the natural sweetness of the flake without losing its character π

Followed by Pirate Kake. Have been taking it easy on Lat this week. It made this bowl soooo enjoyable.

Red Odessa is a fine tobacco. Have you tried Star of the East flake? I'm now smoking GH Dark Twist sliced thick cut in my #1 Iron Horse stack. Not a bad tobac, it's trying to be ODF, but not quite.
