Just took the dog on a walk that was long enough to smoke a MM Country Gent full of Sutliff J4 Burley.
It's a beautiful night in Lower Alabama.

It's surprisingly not a "big hunk of wood" like my Custom Bilts and Kaywoodie Hand Mades. It is done in the Tracy Mincer style, but the walls are actually pretty narrow with a bowl diameter of 7/8". It took me a while to find a blend that smoked well in it. I was mainly into Latakia blends when I bought it and they didn't smoke well in it at all. Then I expanded to burley blends and it is wonderful for them! |

Half way through this bowl of Esoterica Dunbar in a smooth straight late ‘50s, early 1960s Lane era Charatan Selected 43 Dublin with a black vulcanite double comfort stem. This pipe was formerly owned by actor William Conrad, too! My second Conrad pipe.

Now smoking Edgeworth Ready Rubbed Match in a 1970s three quarter bend half smooth, half sandblasted Savinelli Autograph 4 with a pearl brown lucite stem and ferrule. I may finish the day with this smoke.

...yeah, in Europe, if you say "coffee" it means "Nescafe." All of Europe? Please preserve my dreams of France and Italy. ...and Denmark. Here 'coffee' means 'coffee'. Nescafé is 'instant coffee' or in Danish 'pulverkaffe'.

Of his VaPers (and VaPerBur), my top three are Viprati, Louisiana Red and Firestorm. A very honorable mention is Rolando’s Own, which I cannot understand why it was discontinued. I didn’t discover it until it this year- 😢 To me, it would be my favorite if I could get any. . Russ has mentioned bringing it back along with Stogie and a kake version of LR. One can dream. |
