I still have last years Peretti's Thanksgiving Day Blend opened....was NOT fond of the 2017 blend. I purchased 2 pressed cakes, one for a friend. He has made no comments so far, I need to ask him next week.

I thought the Thanksgiving Blend was a staid recipe. Mine is good, but it's not dissimilar to Three Kings and Golden Days of Yore. And the cake was little more than packed tobacco. Just smoked some the other day. Again, good, but confusing

Just smoked some the other day. Again, good, but confusing David, not even close to the 2014 & 2015 release. My 2017 was extremely dry and broke up like powder. I sent Peretti’s an email and no response....well they are from Boston...lol.

I did have to rescue this one a little bit with a humidifier disc. Now it is delicious. Every bit the way I remember it clear back in December.
I've found that with the right amount of humidification, almost any tobacco can be made palatable again.
I tried to get Petersons Christmas offering but I couldn't do so last December. No one will even ship to the US. Part of some new tobacco laws. So stupid.

Golden Days of Yore has become part of our Christmas tradition here in our house. Smokers and nonsmokers alike both enjoy the pleasant aroma. Christmas in a jar! It is hard to believe that the holidays are now only five months away.

By December of this year there is a 50% chance I will be moving overseas for good. Let’s hope things don’t get that bad for me here!!!
SORRY, got off subject

I divide my time between the US and the Far East. I can tell you, unfortunately though, that outside of North America, UK, and a few European countries, pipe smoking is in a state of disrepair.
Sad, but it is the case. When I was arriving in BKK earlier this year, I noticed a young Korean man buying several cartons of Dunhill cigarettes from the duty free shop. I said something like "wow, Dunhill, I love their pipe tobaccos". I understand that English is not his first language, but his response was still classic: "Sorry, smoking drugs is illegal in my country." Unfortunately, the classy, gentleman's pipe has been relegated to duty as drug paraphernalia in many places. Sad.

Back in the late 80’s when I was in Libya I was looked at strangely walking down the road puffing on a pipe. The officials new who I was and traveled with a Diplomatic Passport so I was never bothered. I brought them coffee from the States and I was treated like royalty 👍👍

How about Christmas in August? HAHA Crazy Eddie. Always the best. I grew up in north Jerz, so I was all about that stuff. A WPIX staple for sure. Y'ever watch the documentary about the real Crazy Eddie? What a scheister.

How about Christmas in August? That is funny...back in the day I had a buddy in Endicott...I cannot remember the details, but a local store guaranteed to beat any ad in New York State. He said that crazy Eddie played fast and loose, and if I remember correctly would have one at that price, and the guy just left the store with it. The store grudgingly gave my buddy the deal, but changed their policy in a New York minute.

Y'ever watch the documentary about the real Crazy Eddie? What a scheister. He was soooooooo crazy he lit his storage garage on fire due to his business failing and fled to Israel. He was shortly soon there after extradited back to the USA.....Believe me, I know for sure....nuff said.

CramptholomewI didn’t know anyone made a documentary about Eddie Antar. My knowledge is limited to a number of news stories and profiles. I would like to see it. I was born in late ‘74 and lived in Long Island. You’re right about channel 11, I recall that too. Those commercials always take me back to my childhood. I also remember going to the store(s) with my folks hoping to meet ‘Crazy Eddie’ ! @lonecoyote I would love to hear that story, in confidence.

Yup, a relative that had nothing to do with the legal end of the business, other then making some “ electronic’s “ disappear in many of those mysterious “ night break-in’s at a Crazy Eddie’s location “! Also known as insurance scams......lol.

Also known as insurance scams......lol. I was in the mortgage business from 1993-2007. One of our managers had worked at another well known electronics chain on Long Island in the 1980s. They filed for bankruptcy around 1990, and ceased operations. He described a similar ‘situation ’.
