Been a little busy the last couple weeks, thank you to Lady Margaret for getting the thread started in my absence. I've finally got my tin open and it's not what I expected. A lot lighter and sweeter than I thought. It's still a wonderful blend. I just expected more latakia. wondered about you being MIA (hubby would say UA, once a Marine.... lol) it needed to be done happy to help. Good to see you back!!

Im smoking my first bowl of this month's blend. I didn't think I'd get to participate. I'll be hitting this jar again in the morning to get a better handle on the flavors. So far so good.

I had tried a few bowls of this last month right after I got everything from Jr. I enjoyed it, but at the time I was smoking Amphora and Peterson Sweet Killarney needless to say I found it strong. I told my progeny what I thought, he later asked that I revisit the blend. Now that I have a few more lat blends under my belt I have a new opinion. For me it was a much milder blend than the Red Rapparee I had recently been smoking. What remains important to me is the way it makes me feel not just the taste. I know the difference in the basics and that’s about as far as my technical knowledge goes. Lighting my bowl, brings a smooth comforting nudge to my senses. It’s woodsy and earthy, maybe even leathery, undertones of spice and a faint sweetness that comes and goes like a ghost. It made me think of going on trail rides with my stepfather as a boy. 10 to 20 people on horseback camping on bedrolls under the stars. The smell all of us, horses, saddle leather, beer, campfires, and nature hang in my mind. It reminds of my stepdad coming in after feeding horses. The light smell of the grain, hay, cigar smoke, and the heavy musk of a horse. This was a very comforting and relaxing smoke. Lay all the way back in that chair, have a nice bourbon and just relax into a very smooth light lat. I really enjoyed it once I gave it proper respect.

Less than a week left to try out this blend and post your review. Doesn't seem like we've had quite as many post this month, any one got anything else to say about this blend?

Other than I’ve smoked WhiteKnight since it’s release, if your a BIG fan of Balkan blends, this is a MUST try!!! I highly recommend H&H WhiteKnight as well as it’s partner that’s been sold out also a number of times....BlackHouse 👍👍👍

How would ya'll compare White Knight to something like Skiff or Presbyterian; I'm guessing it's stronger?

Not any stronger at all. There is definitely a lighter touch in all 3 of those blends. I would say the strength of lat is skiff, white house, then presbyterian. The strength of flavor overall is whitehouse, presbyterian then skiff. Im a bit lat sensitive and skiff will occasionally give me a tongue nip, white house and presby dont ever. Ive smoked more skiff than the other two only because I sampled it first.

I figured White Knight would be too strong but from what you're saying, maybe I'll give it a try next time Skiff goes AWOL.
