I just realised I am in the market for another pipe.
Can anyone here recommend me a good bowl shaped pipe with a rather fat bowl for $100 or less? Not a nosewarmer, please.
Estate is okay!

Not sure how wide you're looking for but I really like my Peterson Dracula 999. It's bowl is wider than my other pipes and it brings out the flavor in my Englishes really well. I'm not sure how it does with aro's because it's my dedicated English pipe.
I've thought about getting another 999 (not the dracula) just because it smokes so well for me.

Perhaps a Stanwell shape 95? Literally like the shape of a bowl, and very chunky.

I was thinking about something more along the lines of a straight stemmed pipe, like the 606. I may just order the Dracula 606.

Just bought a Peterson Aran 606. Beautiful pipe.
I did not get the Dracula because I have been telling many people who are near and dear to me about and I am quite sure I have a gift coming my way.

I have a pound of vintage Syrian. It's a con only blend for me though.
The 606 looks to be a little bit wider too (not much) Hmmm...

The Savinelli 320 EX usually goes for right around $100. They are my favorite. Fun to hold, big fist full of wood, big bowl, smoke great right out of the box, but when broken in a real dream smoker. Big yes, but I find them easy and not tiring to clench.

That is a nice pipe. I have been on the hunt for another Peterson (or three) for some time now, however. The 606 fits the bill for everything I am looking for - sort of bowlish, sort of pot-ish, and wide. Also theres a beautiful finish on the wood. Photos forthcoming.
roadsdiverged - I am a latakia nut in general, so I am sure that I will be very happy with this vintage Syrian. I am sure I have had Syrian tobaccos before in other MacBaren blends before, before this whole mess in Syria started with the war and gassings and what have you. But not blended like this one is, I am sure, unless this is simply a re-labeled, previous blend. So it will be a new experience for me. If it's good, I'll have to order more. I imagine that like Strang, tobacco like this is going to create many golum-type creatures.

There are a number of nice Savinelli's for less than $100. I recommend a Savinelli 320 KS author.

It also has a totally different flavor that I really like.

Perhaps a Stanwell shape 95? Literally like the shape of a bowl, and very chunky. I own the 95 and have posted pictures of mine on here, only difference is the one I own has a rusticated bowl with a smooth rim. It’s an excellent smoking pipe, one which I would highly recommend. I own many Stanwell pipes and ALL are exceptional smokers, well crafted. Plus the 95 has the wide stem in which I prefer for those times I clench.

Youbetcha.....another model I own, excellent smoking pipe and worth every penny👌👍
So, we all made an easy choice for you.....buy the 999, the 95 and the 320......lol
Okay then, buy one every month so you don’t go broke. That’s 3 pipes for under $300.00, I’ve seen each model sell for under $100.00. Now aren’t you glad you asked our advice 👍👍👍

I went out to the mail today to discover this! A nice vintage Syrian Latakia blend and a very nice brand new Irish pipe! My only complaint about the Peterson so far (I haven't lit it up yet) is the quality of the stamp is not the same quality as on my other Petersons. The black lettering seems a little faded, but it is not a major issue. This might be one of those things you discover when you buy a medium-range pipe from a higher-end company. Otherwise the pipe looks tip top. The pipe in the smokingpipes website has the same issue, and they always post pictures of the actual pipes you purchase. The pipe is a nice featherweight and of a good size. This one definitely won't burn your nose off. I included a picture for size comparison.
