This review is based off the STG re-release. The ribbons are slightly moist and do not need to dry. One light and it’s off to the races. I sense grass, wood, a faint, almost Pine-sol like tanginess, and a lemony sweetness. The moderate spiciness is always present. It’s also pleasantly sour, and sometimes sweet.
It’s never harsh, even with quick puffing. It’s almost medium in body, while the nicotine level is mild.
TYM is a pleasantly smooth, uncomplicated, garden variety VaOR. Had Dunhill not exited the tobacco business, this would have been a good blend for those looking to explore the world of VaOrs.

Nice work Sam. I have three tins of this one in the cellar from five or six years back? It sounds right up my alley based on your review.
Just curious, how does it compare to Dunhill Flake?

Great Review, Sam. Timely, too. As I was moving some of my cellar (boxes) around I came across my tin of this. I'll know what to expect now. Have @10furlongs to thank for my appreciation of VA. There is always so much to learn from you all.

It’s been a while since I smoked Dunhill Flake. Strangely enough, I wanted to buy some to cellar. I was searching online last night, and it’s out of stock everywhere. I guess I waited to long. Oh well.
If my memory is correct, Flake is made of bright and lemon VAs. It’s a perfect summertime blend. It probably has a similar taste to the TYM base.

TYM is one of Dunhill's better all Va, blends. I'd put it just below Royal Yacht for me. If you like it, you'd better stock up now before it goes away in December this year. After then no more Dunhill !!  |
