115 degrees here today, after a couple minutes, I think the yolk cooked faster from above than the whites did on cast iron. The edges of the egg were bubbling and sizzling as I took a video.

Did you at least wait for your toast to darken a bit more?...lol. Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated. Don’t you like it when people tell you it might be 115 degrees but it’s dry heat...that’s when you need to restrain yourself from drawing your weapon👍 When I use to visit my Mom in Vegas...it was as HOT as HELL....definitely not for me!
Will see you in November or December. I gave the club a shout out to a guy on BoB who is moving full time to SunCity from the Pacific NW in August. I told him to give AZ a try before he sells his home but he says he likes the heat. Will see.

Wait a minute @trialboss. It doesn't get hot here in the Southwestern Desert. We only have temps of 115 degrees plus with 6 to 15 percent humidity. We don't have days where sweat rolls down the butt crack and you have to change you shirt 3 times in a day. We also don't have red flag warning that covers half of the state. We also don't have days if you go outside to smoke the bowl you might not be able to hold it. We also don't have as many golf courses as we do lakes and ponds that provides relief from the weather. Here is another one we don't have walls of dust that covers the roads and highways with wind speeds up to 80mph+. We live in the desert we don't face the trama other states do.

What a way to get Jim Inks to come and visit!

from 2012 looking across the street. (we have one rolling through now)
There are desert spiders that wait for the dust storms to come along and they surf the clouds to check in...the last one said "Say bro...gimme somma dat sammich" Now I hang out at the cigar lounge, safer there.

Loook forward to seeing you, are you going to the West Coast Pipe Show?
Beats the hell out of driving a rental, and far cheaper than a full service moving company...we can even arrange for loaders on both ends, if he is a vet he qualifies for a discount.

I sent it to our local Fox afilliate today...their response.
FOX 10 Phoenix: Did you take this photo/video? Fox 10 Phoenix and other Fox-affiliated entities would like to use your photo/video on all of our platforms until further notice. Is that OK? Do we also need anyone else’s permission?
I should have told them that Jiminks always tells us to "go fry an egg"...I think I might need to get him to offer a release...I don't want to find myself in legal jeaporady.

That's crazy. Actually, I tried to do the same thing the other day on a black paving slab. The heat was crazy (for Ireland (80 F - I know...mind boggling)). But the egg didn't fry. It just sat there looking defiant. Seems it wasn't as hot as I thought.
Yesterday was brutal ... topped out at 108F here at 3500 feet. Looks like the monsoon may finally be building and fingers are crossed for all living things.

I didn’t realize it got that hot up in the hills. Watching the news last night, they did a segment on volunteers hauling water to the wildlife...guys at work commented that they weren’t drawn for elk as a result.

We are usually around 20 degrees warmer than Flagstaff and 5-7 degrees cooler than PHX. However, come winter time, we'll all be smiling while they are freezing! LOL
Great to hear about the wildlife volunteers ... we've put out several water buckets around the property for the critters.

If you have any buddies that hunt and they have a game camera for wildlife you could borrow, I bet you would be amazed at the amount of critters that roam through the property at night.

We have a trail cam and plan on doing just this ... great minds think alike!

We had a Monsoon storm hit us last night. Parts of the Phoenix Metro got hit with some rain. There has been reported wind gusts of 80+mph the winds have taken down large trees and snapped power poles. As of 1700hrs last evening in the East Valley there were at least 30,000 people with out power. The temps wasn't to bad about 95degrees with a humidity >65%. Along with the winds there were flash flood warnings, road closures due to water running down the streets and roadways. This evening there are still many homes without power. As I write this another storm is passing though Phoenix, it is not as bad as last nights. Also Phoeix Airport is diverting flights because of low disability.
The monsoon season has arrived, only time will tell how bad each storm will be.

I leave town, and everything goes to hell! Sitting on my brothers porch smoking a bowl, a little muggy, but very comfortable.

I fried an egg on the asphalt at my old house when I was a kid. 110 degrees in Houston. I don't know what the humidity was cause I was a kid. Took about 40 minutes as I recall. My collie ate it after it cooled off. I just don't get Phoenix.
Well as with anywhere, you take the good with the bad.... it is pretty nice when most of the nation has snow up to their keester, and I am barbecuing in my a pair of shorts.
Having lived a block from a fault line and living through Loma Prieta, I am glad to not have that looming in the background anymore.
